Coming May 2 through 30, 2012: Peter Millett shows his large metal sculptures in the exhibit “Presence : Absence.” The annual sculpture exhibits are curated by Gallery Director Ross Brown, himself a metal artist with chops in bronze, steel, stone, ceramic, and print.
During April, 2012 we celebrated the Annual Conference of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) with an invitational exhibit of edgy teapots by 40 local artists. This exhibit was curated by ceramic artist and instructor Lars Husby and also featured a lecture by renowned teapot collectors Sonny & Gloria Kamm.
In January, Chad White, Art Faculty in Photography, curated a show of work by the artist Paho Mann. Images featured an exploration of work at a Phoenix recycling plant.
In November 2011, Art Historian and Art Faculty Kate Casprowiak curated the exhibit SMACKDOWN, which was a contrast in styles between the Scottish artist Alan Graham Dick and the American artist Jim Riswold.
October 2011 was the month for the Annual Art Faculty Exhibit, featuring work by all Art Faculty and Staff of Bellevue College. Installations included darkroom and digital photography, mixed media, oil, acrylic, ink, charcoal, and sculpture (bronze, steel, ceramic).
In May, 2011 the Annual Student Exhibit featured a variety of work from across all media taught at Bellevue College. For this exhibit, faculty and staff nominate the best pieces from their classes and then jointly curate the show — always an exciting presentation of expressive works.
In April 2011 the Gallery was host to the exhibit Sculpt:Reveal, which featured ceramic artist Paul Metivier, stone sculptor Sabah Al-Dhaher, and ceramic artist Wade Pose.
